After the Trump administration’ successful strikes on Iran last week, border czar tom Homan announced 130 Iranian nationals were arrested over the past week by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Currently, 670 Iranian nationals are in ICE detention, Homan and federal sources confirmed. “We don’t know who they are, where they came from, why they’re here,” Homan told Fox News.

“This is the biggest national security vulnerability we’ve ever seen,” he added.

Former ICE director, Jonathan Fahey, blamed the Biden administration for “definitely” making things worse. “I think one thing that’s really concerning about that: One, they weren’t doing any really meaningful vetting in the last administration,” Fahey said.

“The second part of it is, you know, we have probably 2 million known gotaways come through the last administration, and the people that went through the non-ports of entry, we knew they went through but nobody caught them, so we have no idea who went through,” he continued.

ICE confirmed a number of those currently detained have criminal histories and charges related to domestic violence, weapons, and drugs.

The move comes as the Trump admin has began bolstering efforts to target Iranian nationals amidst rising security concerns. After the US successfully took out Iranian nuclear sites, the government Iran vowed to respond.

Abbas Araghaci, the Iranian foreign minister, said the nation “reserves all options” and promised “everlasting consequences.”

“The events this morning are outrageous and will have everlasting consequences,” the foreign minister said. “In accordance with the UN Charter and its provisions allowing a legitimate response in self-defense, Iran reserves all options to defend its sovereignty, interest, and people.”

He went on to claim the U.S. attacks were a “grave violation” of UN and international law.
